Problems with the site? Frequently Asked Questions
  • Why hasn’t my question been answered in the time promised?
Since we began this web site in 2001, Dr. Hackworth has answered 99.999% of all questions by the promised deadline. In most cases, when someone has thought that their question was not answered on time, the reality is that a problem on their end, with their email system (see the next FAQ), was the real issue. First, then, read the next FAQ and contact us if need be to help you receive your answer. When you do receive your answer, you will see at the very bottom a date/time stamp indicating exactly when your answer was ready for you.

  • Why haven’t I received an email that my answer is ready?
One most frequent reason is that our emails are being trapped in your spam filter or bulk mail folder in your own email system. Check now and you may still find our emails in one of those places. If not, contact us and we will help you receive your answer. Remember, also, to change your email settings to allow correspondence from our web site. Another common reason can be that the email address you provided to us was misspelled or otherwise entered incorrectly – so we cannot get in touch with you. If you think that could be the problem, email us and make sure we have your correct information.

  • I’ve lost my username and password, or don’t remember ever getting one. How do I get that now?
Those would have been on a confirmation page which would have been on your computer screen immediately after submitting your question. If you did not notice or keep that information, contact us by email (from the email address you submitted to us earlier) with a very brief statement of the general content of your question. Once we determine that you are the person who submitted the question we will forward the information you need to access your answer.

  • My username and/or password don’t work. How can I be sure I have the right information?
It’s virtually certain that you are either making an error in how you’re typing that information or you’re misreading it. It is best to copy and paste the username and password into the applicable places to avoid any mix-ups. But, if you are typing it in, be careful of any confusion between, for instance, the letter ‘O’ and the number ‘0,’ or the letter ‘l’ and the number ‘1.’ Also, remember that the username and password would only be ones that we have given you – never something you would make up on your own or what you would use to access any other web sites.
